Science writing
I much prefer to write about exciting science than discover it myself in the lab. After completing a degree in biotechnology and marrying a computer programmer, much of my work is now in biotech or IT. I also love quirky science stories, like the history of nylon, the health benefits of chilli, or the sex life of skinks. I’ve written for biotechnologynews.net, Resource Stocks, Cosmos, Farming Ahead and more. |

Feature writing I’ve researched and written some fun features for magazines including Perth Woman, Ft. Myers, Cravings, Metropolis, Kansai Time Out and The Canberra Times’ CT Mag and Panorama. I love writing features. I’ve trained in the ring with female boxers, researched the sexual habits of sex therapists, taste-tested dozens of fiery wasabi recipes (and cocktails!) and tried my hand at paragliding school. |

Childrens’ writing
In addition to writing children’s fiction, I also love writing non-fiction for kids. I have edited CSIRO’s Scientriffic and also contributed science stories to The Helix, Smithsonian's Kids Castle and ScienceMax. |

Travel writing I dabble in travel writing, mostly from tropical islands (one can’t help having a preference). My travel features and articles have been published in
Qantas’ The Australian Way, Outdoor Australia, Cosmos, Metropolis, Perth Woman, Cravings, The Canberra Times’ Panorama and DestinAsian. |
